K, Suraya, Hisyam, Jaja and Utra and Sanjay(Dr. Siti Fazlili's R.A) also attended the meeting.

The meeting was about advertising and marketing for most of it as the new crews has to be notified about the project and the competition.

some of the details have been gone through the day before as what I and Mr Mikhail has discussed with them

We dicussed until 11.00 am and decided to adjourn our meeting until Monday, 11.00 am. Pizza will be served on the next meeting says Dr. Azree. :P

Friday 16 april



Azlee and Zaki had family matters to attend on this day.



I was the only one available in the morning. iwent to see mr. mikhail to get some news on the proposal to michellin, also some updates from the test.



I also discussed with mr mikhail about the marketing team, and how most of the marketing students from muadzam does not fulfill the requirement needed. they can help but we need them available here fulltime, most of them are attached with thier internship and some of them are still in foundation searching for experience. we would want a person who knows our goal. what had to be done. and we would prefer the job to be done without supervision.

This whole day we had our mind to set the car on the track, Don zaki and syakir were busy setting up the cooling device at the car while azlee sets up the air tunnel.



I had a meeting with mr. mikhail to set up what was needed for the track test.

Tuesday

Day 8 was a busy day

Its been a while since i've updated my post


Earlier this week we already had set a date to meet the Datin of External Affairs today.


Dr. Azree, Dr. Azmi, Mikhail Fong, Azlee and myself went to the registrars office to meet the Datin at the meeting room.





She looked suprised when she met all of us, she was expecting just Dr. Azmi. because he was the one who set up the meeting





In the meeting Dr. Azree gave a brief of the Challenge and made a preposition at Datin so that she would help us to align our proposals with TNB's CSR so that we could get sponsorship from TNB.





While Azlee and myself are in the meeting, Zaki, Don and Shakir is busy testing the car under the scortching sun~





The test unvieled unsatisfying results.. :(

We started day 7 with our weekly meeting to see the progress on our project

People who attended the meeting:

Dr. Azree, Dr. Hanim, Dr. Azmi, Mr. Mikhail fong, Mr. Zainuddin Yahya, Mrs. Zaemah Hassan, Mr. Namas, Mr. Badrul, Mr. Fazleazrul, Mr. Syamsul and us, the fabulous five. :P

Later Dr. Siti fazlili also joined the meeting.

At first, Azlee and i described basically what has been done for the first week. We, presented our test results on our own track based on the three test we had done

Then Dr. Azree continued on the progress of our project where we should include marketing and promotion from UNITEN to promote the Perodua Myvi Eco Challenge.

after the explaination by Dr. Azree, Don was to present his idea on modification to the car to everyone in the team as he did on his proposal paper.

Ideas was thrown in by lecturer for the upcoming test day on thursday as we need to improve the FC and reduce the load by so much more.

Then its Dr. Siti Fazlili turn to present her idea to help the team improve the team result.

We started Day 6 on the second week which is on monday.



I was early because i wanted to see Dr. Azree for some details on the car before we could proceed with our work but he is on leave. So, I went to see Mr Mikail Fong for some questions on aerodynamics of the car and made sure about removing unwanted devices in the dashboard and the engine bay.



Around 11, we start some minor work removing some parts and we had to break for lunch.



After lunch, we start removing the interior of the dashboard. basically all the unwanted parts from the front end of the car has been removed.

It rained heavily that evening while we were working on the car.

We finished the modification around 5.00 pm and went home. This day was the earliest day i went home since i started industrial training.

A meeting was set for the next day so we all had to prepare for that.

On day 5, in the morning azlee texted me to go straight to the workshop. Its was suprisingly weird because he woke up early and punched in earlier than us all.

By the time i arrived, he was alreaddy jacking up the car to change the rear tyres to the spare wheel. you guys must be thinking that myvi has only one spare tyre, why did we want to change one rear tyre. We, have a secret weapon! :P


Jeng jeng jeng~...

We have a second car, actually there are so many myvi owner in uniten.

Hurray, the car finally get a new home instead of being out in the cold outside BF.

At last we could start working on the car..

we started by stripping of the car at about 9.30am

By 11.00am it was already like this.

We were done by 12.30pm. hehe

by evening, we had nothing to do.. basically we have to test the car. and yes, we did.. at 6 we did the test of 1.5 liter of Petronas PRIMAX RON97 for a run of the lightened Myvi.

Well, that would be 24.5km for a liter of petrol.. that would be like an additional 9km of the run.

that marks the end of day 3~

We Started Day 3 with a morning meeting, which i arrived at 8.07am.

The meeting was to form the team including lecturers as supervisors for the project
The meeting was attended by

Dr. Azree, Mr. Mikhail Fong, Mr. Zainuddin Yahya, Mrs. Zaemah Hassan, Mr. Namas, Mr. Fazleazrul, Mr. Shamsul, Mr, Badrul and us five.

Basically the meeting was to gather all lecturers to brainstorm on the idea for the Perodua Eco Challenge

First day was a bit blurr~, everyone was waiting for Dr. Azree in the morning.

The team includes me myself and 4 of my friends, which i already knew. They are Azlee(the team leader), Don and Syakir (Car Mod Specialist) and Zaki (Who knows everything), I just have a little knowlegde on cars during my part time work at a workshop.

That day, we had to confirm with him how are we doing the internship, need to gather information on the competition side. and also we had to have approval from him before we can do anything to the car. (its a white pearl Myvi SE 1.3 Automatic Transmission)

what i did that morning was i sent a fax to the company that accepted me declining the offer they made to pursue a higher goal. well that fax also means that i'm really doing the Eco Challenge thingy~ :D

We sat all day at the office lounge, had several meetings with Dr. Azree, whom is our supervisor. We also are given some task to do individually as an intial job while some matter are sorted out.

Task Given to Us :

Azlee : list out all things needed for the Eco Challenge, also budgeting

Don : Deal on the Workshop, get permission

Syakir : Send Dr. Azree's Car to a workshop to fix his Proton Waja

Zaki : Find whom ever that can repair or sell his Aprilia Pegasso

i had to make an open tender for a modification on his rotationg orifice project

By noon, most of our task are done.

Don's task was done by Zaki. He had a hard time dealing with Mr. Namas (the mechanical engineering workshop supervisor). he even had me tagging along to deal with mr. Namas.

Dr. Azree's Proton Waja was fixed only by changing the rear suspension bushing.. :)

That day, we basically had a leisure first day of internship..

That nite we had a 'little' celebration on joining the team

May The Force Be With Us...

Its been a week since i started my internship. It happen to be that i'm doing my internship at UNITEN, only the last place any students in UNITEN would ever want to be.

Well, i actually got offered to a place somewhere in subang jaya, it pays high (about rm800) and we can wear jeans to work. but it isnt really my best choice. I happen to apply to that company online through a job search application the day before and they called up for an interview the evening, the day i applied.

The next day, the interview went fine and i was hired on the spot. They say they start work at 8.15am till 5.15pm from Monday to Saturday. And thats when i started to think whether i can arrive to work on time.

I live in Kajang and to Subang Jaya its like going through waves of traffic jams. Any way i go, it'll be the same. If this is my last choice, then i just have to get through.

When i thought that was my last choice, I happen to heard a search of a crew for the Perodua Myvi Eco Challenge, which i have been wanting to know if i can do internship under that project ever since i read the mass email from Dr. Azree.

On the last day to send the confirmation letter (Form B) to UNITEN, whether i have placements for internship or not, I went to see Dr. Azree for his consultations whether i should take it or should I leave it. I remembered what i said to him then, "Its not about the money, i just need something else rather than just an Internship". And also i asked if i could be in the team and do it in UNITEN under his supervision. And I made it in the team. and basically thats how i get to do my internship in 'my beloved' UNITEN... Hurray!!

Now its just a matter of going for the challenge!!
